Due to COVID-19, Governor Hogan has ordered the closure of all MDOT MVA locations as well as the Customer Service Center. There are still services available via the MDOT MVA eStore. Included in the Governor's Executive Order is an expired product extension. This has been put in place for products such as vehicle registrations, drivers licenses, ID cards, business licenses, and permits to include handicap permits. These products will not expire until the 30th day after the state of emergency has been lifted.
The Department of Homeland Security has extended the Real ID enforcement deadline from October 21, 2020 to October 21, 2021. Appointments for the Real ID Act will resume once the MVA re-opens.
